How does one go from a working class corporate employee to a self-employed musician?

Easy get discovered by rocks most notorious guitarist, Michael Schenker, cut a CD with Mr. Schenker, Schugar/Schenker Under Construction, then head out on tour as the music world stands up and takes notice.

That whirl wind started in 2003 for Amy Schugar, now here it is 2005 and Amy is working on her next CD release with Doug Stapp. Ms. Schugar has landed an endorsement deal with Daisy Rock guitars and has appeared at NAMM promoting their line of guitars.

She has brushed shoulders with Stuart Spector, Paul Gilbert has written a song for her website, Jennifer Batten has agreed to play on her upcoming release, she has jammed with Hot for Teacher (Van Halen tribute band), she has been in contact with Billy Sheehan and performed as the opening act in front of Robin McCauley at a benefit concert in Chicago in 2004.

Amy Schugar certainly stepped out from the shadow of Michael Schenker quickly and she is now poised to make her mark on the music world. She is not one to compromise selling flesh for success. To top it all off she can play the guitar as good as if not better than any man!

Don’t let her innocent looks and charming smile fool you; this women is definitely holding her own in the male dominated music industry.
