Rising U.K. rockers make U.S. debut, live and on wax
London-based rock act Sons of Albion are about to make their stateside debut. Although barely 18 months old as a band, they've already played their brand of fiery hard rock at some of The UK's biggest festivals, like T in the Park and Virgin's V Festival, as well as opening for acts like Velvet Revolver, Lenny Kravitz, and The Who.
Mixing a modern hard rock sound that's draw comparison to bands like Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Rage Against The Machine -- delivered with an attitude Esquire dubs "old school swagger" -- Sons Of Albion make songs that quiver with energy and explode with a wall of wailing guitars and thundering drums.

New Static-X Single Inspired By Singer's Former Adult Star Wife
Static-X has just posted the first single off their forthcoming album, Cult of Static on their official MySpace page. “Stingwray” was inspired by Wayne Static's wife, former adult film star Tera Wray Static, and the Corvette Stingray she drives.
Keeping the integral tones, Static-X encompasses shredding guitars with solos that have brought the band to a level of playing to be reckoned with. The cybernetic stomp of "Hypure" and "You Am I" bludgeon, bruise and break with precise grooves. Elsewhere, the staccato riffs on "Terminal" crush through an unmistakable guitar tone. Guitarist Koichi Fukuda blazes through incendiary solos, while Tony Campos bolts down demonic bass lines and Nick Oshiro pounds out deadly rhythms. Front-man Wayne Static riffs pure violence and screams out his soul. “Over the years my voice has been destroyed from excessive touring... and I love it,” exclaims Static. “The vocals on the new record are raw and brutal.”
Snake Eye, one of the coolest bands playing heavy Melodic Rock in the world and who feature a wickedly talented guitarist in Xavier Paladian, now have three video available for viewing. Check 'em out!
Still Dangerous: Live At The Tower Theater Philadelphia 1977 Captures The Band At The Height Of Its Powers!
VH1 Classic Records is proud to announce the March 3, 2009 release of Still Dangerous: Live At The Tower Theater Philadelphia 1977. This newly discovered live album, featuring the quintessential Lizzy lineup—Phil Lynott, lead vocals/bass; Scott Gorham, guitar; Brian Robertson, guitar; Brian Downey, drums—showcases the band at the height of its prodigious powers.
Thin Lizzy roared out of the 1969 Dublin, Ireland pub scene. Their sound was crystallized in the 1976 anthem “The Boys Are Back In Town.” With Lynott’s intricate wordplay and those two lead guitarists, a template for ‘70s hard rock was cast in stone. In 1978, they released Live And Dangerous, thought to be one of the all-time great live rock albums.
