Comments: Hello Rock Fans! My name is Kim Shockley and I am a rock music addict. My first rock concert was Ten Years After at Memorial Hall in Kansas City in 1974. Since that experience I’ve been unable to go a single day without my music “fix.” I’ve been on staff here at HRH since 2006.

I enjoy a variety of music genres that includes classic rock, metal, blues, alternative and southern rock, and I’ve been known to listen to pop and modern country once or twice. I’ve never been in a band and I can’t play an instrument – I’m just a 70’s chick that never grew up and still LOVES listening to loud music and going to live shows. My boyfriend and I take many road trips each year to see our favorite bands.

My TOP 10 favorite bands/artists of all time tends to change every now and then, but for today, in no particular order, I would say my all time favorites are Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, REO Speedwagon, The Who, Kansas, Evanescence, Proto-Kaw (the original Kansas with Kerry Livgren), Led Zeppelin, Bob Seger, Three Days Grace and Pink Floyd.

It’s great having the opportunity to hear new music first and an honor to write the CD reviews. I hope to get a few concert reviews on the site this summer so be sure to check back often. I know at least one or two of our readers will disagree with my opinions and reviews from time to time, but no sweat. I only hope you find my reviews to be fair, and most of all, an interesting read.
