Liz Saunders
Staff Writer
Comments: Liz Saunders has been involved with the music industry in one
way or another for the last 16 years—from sitting at home playing
guitar, playing in and singing for different bands, to behind-the-scenes
PR work, booking, and attending as many live shows as possible.
From very early on, she had the benefit of being involved with an outstanding group of musicians, and learned to distinguish between music that was merely good and what was phenomenal. “Those were the guys who taught me that bands like The Beatles, Rush, and Yes were worthy of not only listening to, but studying in great depth.” This foundation enabled her to hear and evaluate music based on its own merits, instead of what has simply been popular.
She has an ear for talent with respect to musicianship as well as to the recording/mixing/production end of things, and her input has been utilized by some of the best producers in the country, most notably producer Jeff Tomei (Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox 20, et al). Her primary focus is on Hard Rock/Industrial/Metal/Alternative/Hardcore rock put out by indie label or unsigned bands.
Liz has her undergrad in Political Science, has been a lobbyist, and had
entertained the idea of law school, but realized several years ago that
her passion for music and talent for writing would wind up becoming her
career.
