Hardrock Haven: Thanks for taking the time to talk with us today, Markus. The big news on your front is your brand new CD, simply titled II. So when someone listens to II for the first time, what are they going to hear?

Markus Allen Christopher: They are going to hear a new M!ss Crazy CD that has everything on it as far as a M!ss Crazy fan is concerned. It has heavy tunes, rockers, ballads … it was a record that was recorded real fast after the last tour!~ It is real as hell!

HRH: The band has been going through some changes, with basically a whole new lineup except for you. Why do you think these respective roster changes were made?

Markus: Oh fuck Derric … you just ask them don't you? OK … everyone has they're thing. For one, Jimmy Z, no one in the band liked him. He was not a team player. He made it so difficult to be around. It made us all uneasy. He complained like he was some rock star. He never recorded … he never toured … he never did anything major other than us his whole life. I can see why. He was an alright drummer. I know Jimmy … I was an asshole too … that's because you made me like that!!!! You dick! Kim almost quit a few times because of him. Tom … is very loyal and a kind person. He just has to take care of some things and he could be around again. Kim ... she was there from the start. Had some amazing times with her. She helped build this band. I would be lying if I said I did not miss her. I miss so many things. We had something special that eventually did not work out. She is a great person. She needs to look at herself in the mirror and say … I'm Kim … I can do anything. I wish her luck. She is a great piano player too. I hope we can be friends again. It's not worth it to have it be like it is … no communication. The mistakes we both made are not even close to worth it. What we can do together out weighs all of that.

HRH: Kim Racer was, in a way, "the face" of Miss Crazy. What does new bassist Brandi Lee bring to the table as her replacement? And, did you ever contemplate NOT having a female bass player in the band?

Markus: Yes … I kinda wanted to get a dude. Then it was kinda weird without Kim. So I got Brandi … the fans like her. I'm not sure if she wants to be the face of M!ss Crazy … but if it turns out like that then she would be cool with it. LOL.

HRH: Let's get into some of the songs … I love how the new CD opens, with the song "Mow." I got from the lyrics that the track is about relationships, maybe broken ones. Is this a personal track or something you wrote that is more general?

Markus: Fuck Derric ... Kim... yes … this CD is a heartfelt record. It is hard to hear and to think of playing it live trips me out.

HRH: Miss Crazy takes some chances on II, especially with songs like "The River." We didn't hear anything like that track on your debut CD. Was that a goal when recording this new CD, to be a little riskier in your songwriting?

Markus: Totally. Kim and I planned it like that. We wanted to come out heavy. Fans told us that too. We were planning on getting in the studio with Chris Jordan when we were done touring. We wanted to show people that we could play more intricate.

HRH: The ballad "Don't Walk Away" is a pretty poignant song; again, is this track about anyone in specific, or, is it just a song that everyone can relate to?

Markus: I don't think I even need to say who it's about. But songs like this one go to the test of time. It is a song that was created with pain in the heart moments involved.

HRH: One of my favorite songs on the CD has to be "Make You Mine." I think it's the heaviest song I've heard from Miss Crazy--I actually called it "untamed" in my review. So exactly how pissed off were you when you wrote this track? Hahaha …

Markus: Pretty upset in general. This CD I wrote angry. Sad. Out of my mind. Destroyed. Can you tell? LOL … (cry out loud).

HRH: Do you have any favorites on the new CD? Is there one song that stands out for you?

Markus: To be honest with you … they all are cool … but I hate that I had to feel that way to write music like this. That's how it is though. The good songs are written like that. (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh)

HRH: Is Miss Crazy going to shoot a video for the new CD? If so, which track?

Markus: Already finished … just waiting for the edits to be finished. We did "Livin Without You."

HRH: Miss Crazy would be an awesome fit at the huge festival Rocklahoma. Was there any interest in either the band or the promoter to get Miss Crazy to Pryor, OK for that festival?

Markus: We are playing and hosting an after party there August 9th with Jaded also. Since they are going to be on tour with us. Jaded!!!

HRH: You guys toured across America and back again for the last album. So, what do your tour plans look like over the next 6 months? Are you guys going to blaze across America again, playing everywhere?

Markus: I know we are touring till the end of summer!! After that, I have a major project that I'm doing. It is gonna kill! Shhhhhh ....... LOL.

HRH: Thanks again for your time, and is there anything I left out that you'd like to leave with all of our Hardrock Haven faithful?
