This is another hard rock powerhouse delivered straight from Sweden,
the rock capital of the universe. One wonders if they have found
some sort of magical genetic key to breeding rock musicians over
there because so many talented ones seem to have all spawned from
that specific global location. This is another CD from a band out
of Sweden that rocks from alpha to omega. This work is enlightening
and inspirational metal.
When
the term "Christian rock," is used, generally the masses
are automatically turned off by that often pigeonholed concept of
the music being considered soft or weak. This in no way fits that
description. The music is genuine hard and heavy throughout. These
musicians are all gifted masters of their art. The vocals surge
at you in some points with "Dio-esque," vehemence, while
at other times liberating the listener with harmonious exultation.
Every
part, whether it be the tenacious dominion of the rhythm section,
the blistering leads, or the colorful keys adding just the right
components to the compositions' overall flavors, is done impeccably.
The most mellow offering on the disc is a cover of The Sweet's,
"Love Is Like Oxygen," which is an interesting rendition
as well. It's good to see metal that doesn't consist of a bunch
of groans and rumbles glorifying hatred and evil. This thing kicks
some major tail.
