Artist: Jose de Castro

CD Title: Music Guitar Box

Label: Jopilives Records

Release Date: Out Now

Comments: Spanish guitar maestro, Jose De Castro, second CD release, Music Guitars Box, exploits Jose musical training and technical skills that he has been honing since he was 10. Joining Jose on the splendid 10 track CD are none other than Simon Phillips (Toto, Jeff Beck etc.), Melvin Davis (Chaka Khan, Steve Lukather, Lee Ritenour, etc.) and well known professional Spanish musicians like Maurizio Sgaramella, Denis Bilanin, and Enzo Filiponne.

Music Guitars Box combines musical elements of jazz, fusion, blues and a bit of funk and features a strong Hendrix vibe and Satriani's level of precision can be heard throught the CD. The fretwork songs seem to flow effortlessly from the hands of de Castro and instrumental fans will find this release quite enjoyable. Whether Jose fingers are flying across the fretboard or he is playing slow passionate notes he exhibits true emotion in his playing. One element that has been lost to a lot of main stream and modern music.

Whether the tracks demonstate flashes of speed and technique ("Hot Sounds") or mellow almost Hendrix-esque playing ("Near Your"), Jose musicianship shines through.

Personal Favorites: Near You - When She Walks

Track Listing: Atmosphere - Hot Sounds - I'm Heavy - Near You - Tic, tac, time - When She Walks - Thousand Words - The Crafty Chicken - Bites - Free Soul
