Artist: Last Autumns Dream

CD Title: II

Label: Frontiers

Release Date: Out Now

Comments: This is the second album of the pop-metal band Europe’s side project Last Autumn’s Dream. On the debut album, Ian Haugland, Mic Michaeli and John Levén from Europe participated. These gentlemen were missed on this effort for sure, as Europe has made a full-scale comeback necessitating their return.

This album was more like a nightmare then a dream. On such an uninspired effort, the best of the malaise was the guitar work of former S.A.D.O and Fair Warning axe man Andy Malecek, who has a couple Satriani type solos. Unfortunately that is about the only positive feedback one could draw from the tremendously flat 13-song album. The vocals of Mikael Erlandsson are terrible, and the songs lyrics are stale. From the first song to the last, it’s the “European Trailer Park” version of Journey. Neither the bass line of Marcel Jacob nor the drums of Jamie Borger make any sort of impression and leaves the CD to fall completely on its face.

Band members: Mikael Erlandsson (vocals), Andy Malecek (guitar), Jamie Borger (drums), Thomas Lassar (keyboards), Marcel Jacob (bass)
