Artist: Soil Work

CD Title: Stabbing the Drama

Label: Nuclear Blast Records

Release Date: 3/8/05

Comments: This disc, due to be released on March 8, comes from a band that has continued to live by its name, meaning it has built its reputation and its following from the ground up. This is the direction metal today truly needs to be in. These guys sacrifice nothing in the way of integrity with their raging fury delivered to you first class. This is the true future and destiny of metal.

These new-age metal pioneers could finally bring the entire entity, known as the underground, to the surface with its no-bullshit approach to its music. The band's work ethic knows no limitations as they continue a seemingly unending trek upward with an amazing seven albums since its birth in 1998 with no end in sight. This one hits you from all directions and incorporates all the old school metal elements with deep, rich melodies and harmonies. It fuses it all together to form a new modern incarnation that will bring together even the most rigorous hardcore fans as well as the fence walkers. You simply cannot deny the magnetism of the music created on this disc.

This isn't music that slowly grows on you. It's the kind of thing you can't walk away from the minute it flows out of your speakers and into the air. Soilwork has invented the ultimate audible addiction. This is a needed addition to anyone's collection that has a taste for rock or metal. Sweden has never cultivated anything like this before.

Line-up: Bjorn "Speed" Strid- vocals, Peter Wichers- lead and rhythm guitars, Ola Frenning- lead and rhythm guitars, Sven Karlsson- Keyboards, Ola Flink- bass, Dirk Verbeuren- Studio Drummer
