Comments:
Björn Lodin returns with his band Baltimoore, now on his own
label, BLP Music, after disagreeing with the release date with Lion
Music. Kaleidoscope features the same lineup that appeared
on the Fanatical studio release. The CD is a 12 song affair
with almost 48 minutes of music.
Lodin
continues his exploration into melodic compositions that are heavy
on guitar driven grooves and feature superior solo work by Sedenberg
and Bergstrom. Lodin's vocals are gritty, harsh, almost like listening
to someone on the verge of losing his voice. Yet his voice fits will
within the context of the songs.
The
band has a great retro rock sound that is stellar when combined with
the flawless production on Kaleidoscope. Talking about the
production, Lodin handled that as well. The band rocks on the melodic
"Journeyman," "In The Name of Love," the bluesy
"Wellaway," "Plug & Play Me" just to point
out some of the highlights on Kaleidoscope.
Baltimoore
delivers a solid effort. Fans should be inspired by their latest release.
This is definitely worthy enough to add to your collection.
