Comments:
A powerful deep raspy metal vocal style, guitar playing ability and
sex appeal, that's what band leader Lzzy Hale brings to the table
of this wild spirited metal outfit. The music of Halestorm on this
live EP is one part hardcore, one part punk and certainly original,
with no way to categorize the vocals of Hale. Her voice is damn sexy
though, as she sings beautifully high one minute, then gets down low
and dirty the next. It is perfectly suited to sing blues or spiritual
music but instead us headbangers are the benefactors.
The
drums of Arejay are kick ass too, as are several of the guitar rhythms
of Hale and Hottinger. On One and Done the recording's sound
and production qualities are outstanding, especially for it being
a live show. What you get here is a funky 20 minute live EP full of
character and oozing with Hale's tremendous star potential.
Why,
you ask, does this band kick ass on so many levels? That's easy: they
are from Red Lion, Penn., located in beautiful, majestic York County.
Huge Atlantic Records signed these crazy bastards, which is saying
something, as they have produced top artists like The Doors, Rush
and Kid Rock to name a few.
Fresh
off the Snocore Tour with Shinedown, Seether and Flyleaf, Halestorm
are out on the road again. This time on the Equinox tour with Shinedown
and Mercy Fall, so catch a show near you. Go to their Web site www.halestormrocks.com
to hear a live interview/acoustic performance on FM 93.3 WMMR out

this year. Guaranteed.
