Ted Nugent
Sweden Rocks Live Eagle Rock

by Matthew Hoffman
Staff Writer

Ted Nugent - Sweden Rocks Comments: The new “live” release from Ted Nugent has the best sound quality of any live release you will ever hear! Yes, you will hear every single syllable of Nugent’s banter from the “Get on Down” that launches the band into the classic “Stormtroopers,” to the hilarious mid song “We bring you rock and roll salutations, mother fuckers” he brings on “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang.”

The banter is fun and crystal clear but as usual it’s the soulful shotgun riffs from the guitar that distinguishes the performance for Nugent.

The performance was recorded at the 2006 Sweden Rock festival, and Ted has plenty of fun with the Swedes.

The CD comes the year after Ted’s latest kick ass release Love Grenade, and gives his fans another exceptional live CD that features mostly classic Nugent material.

All the essentials are here including”Cat Scratch Fever,” “Stranglehold” and “Great White Buffalo.”

Besides the spectacular production quality the clean inspired play of the guitar is as good as Nugent has ever been. The clean living and anti drug approach has apparently worked for the “Motor City Madman” and his play is still clean and meticulous. He handles the leads and solos exactly as the album versions were created something very important for the fans of a legendary performer.

Nugent surrounds himself with loads of talent here as Barry Sparks (U.F.O, Dokken, Malmsteen, M.S.G) slings the deep bass guitar notes and expertly handles the old Derrick St. Holmes vocal part on “Hey Baby.”

Rounding out the rhythm section is Mick Brown (Dokken, Xciter, Lynch Mob) who Nugent refers to several times as “Thunder Balls” some of the funniest “shit” Nuge has ever spewed.

Browns play however is no laughing matter as delivers the goods from the first song to the last.

Ted turns 60 years old in December and still plays better (more cleanly and passionately) than 90% of guitarists half his age.

On this release Nugent slings his legendary Gibson Byrdland guitar around the Swedish stage like its 1976 not 2006.

Folks this is an essential CD for fans of Nugent and a fun selection for fans of any rock or metal genre.

Tap the keg and slide in this CD during the warm days of the coming summer.

This Cd is highly recommended!
